It's still largely a work-in-progress and they're adding new features all the time (they're pushing frequent updates), but I think the desktop version will probably end up with a lot of capabilities that you see in the web version in the future. Evernote 5 for Windows Desktop arrives in beta, promises better UI and search (video) Mac users have enjoyed Evernote 5 for nearly eight months now, while those with Windows have had to glare at. I'm in the beta, and as many have said, they're beta testing an electron app. The update also now supports two-step verification for logging in with additional credentials and is rounded off with the usual, numerous - but unspecified - bug fixes. I've actually got the best of both worlds right now. I'm not sure if that feature is available in the web version, but it wasn't last time I checked. I don't really suffer much from Evernote's lack of rich editing. The main screen has a cleaner, more modern look that’s consistent across Mac, Windows, mobile devices, and the web. I like having multiple notes open, spread out across my screen (that's my biggest reason why, anyway).
